Meet the Team
Jack Hepburn
Joint Managing Director
I Joined the family business in 2000, where I continued my studies to obtain an ONC in Building Studies, an HNC in Building Studies and a City & Guilds in AutoCAD. I learnt all aspects of the roles within the company but mainly concentrated in the field of Quantity Surveying. Together with my brother Matthew we have expanded the business over the years into the Company it is today.
Matt Hepburn
Joint Managing Director
After college I started working life on the tools as a plasterer, where I also learnt many of our trades such as floor screeding, rendering & dry lining. I then became part of the Office Management for 2 years before becoming a Joint Managing Director of the company, which my parents started back in 1967.
Martyn Garnett
Finance Director
After achieving a number of A levels I joined The Hepburn Group in 2004. I spent a year working on various sites and learning the different trades that we offer. In 2005 I started to train as a Quantity Surveyor, which lead on to me being more involved in the Financial side of the business. I became the Commercial Director in 2015 where I deal with all the Financial aspects of the Company.
Aaron Ripley
Construction Director
I spent the majority of my working life within the Construction Industry. After learning a number of roles within the Industry, I decided to turn my skills to Dry Lining. I began my career with the Hepburn Group in 2008, where I gained all relevant qualifications for my role as Contracts Manager. In November 2019 I was appointed as Construction Director.
Craig Hill
Company Buyer
I have worked within the construction industry since leaving school, and in a number of Builders Merchants around the Eastbourne area. I have gained over 30 years experience in management and sales. As the Company Buyer I obtain quotes for the surveyors and estimators for tenders. I am responsible for making sure our sites have the materials they need and at the best prices.
Nicky Babaoglu
PA to the Directors
After spending 15 years in Turkey and working as an Office Manager for a British Tour Operator, I returned to the UK. I have had a varied career ranging from working in a Water Company, a School and a Medical Centre. I have worked within the Construction Industry for 4 years, in an administrative role. Most recently I have set up a brand new Builders Merchants.
Josh Lee
Estimator & Quantity Surveyor
After finishing college, I worked as part of a team in various areas of construction, where I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. This included, being a labourer, welder and a Glass Reinforced Plastic laminator. In August 2021 I began my career at The Hepburn Group as a trainee Estimator. On a personal level my Fiance and I are renovating our newly purchased property.
Steve Hadfield
Senior Estimating Surveyor
I have worked within the building industry for over 25 years. After leaving education I joined a local plastering company as a labourer, and ended up being a fully qualified plasterer. I joined The Hepburn Group in 2010 and was given the opportunity to train as an Estimating Quantity Surveyor, where I have exceled.
Kim Hepburn
Company Secretary
In 1982 I joined my husband Brian to help with the administrative side of the business. I had varied roles which included sending out typed up quotes, measuring and preparing dimensions for valuations. Since the early days the Company and I have grown together and I now have seen my sons take over the business and expand the clientele.
David Ridgeway
Contracts Manager
I joined The Hepburn Group in 2010 as a labourer, I then went on to learn other aspects of the company ie; plastering, screeding and rendering. This enabled me to gain experience in order to manage my own teams. In 2020 I became a Contracts Manager where I now oversee a number of our sites.
Darren Whitcher
Senior Quantity Surveyor
After gaining an English Degree I worked for a number of dry lining companies where I qualified as a Dry Liner and Project Manager. I joined The Hepburn Group in 2012 as a Dry Liner, where I also learnt other trades. I have been in the Construction Industry for over 14 years and after coming into the office over 4 years ago, I took my NVQ level 6 and trained to be a Quantity Surveyor.

Accounts Payable
I joined The Hepburn Group in 2017 as an administrative assistant where I deal with the processing of invoices. Previously I worked for Barclays Bank in many different roles, including dealing with Corporate Customers and their accounts. After having my family I worked as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at a local Primary School.
